21st Birthday Photo Cake

by Wendy Broadhead

Introduction
Author

Create the ultimate personalised celebration cake using edible photographs of the recipient.

To view this project's edibles, equipment and instructions, you will need to sign in or join Cakes & Sugarcraft Magazine - it's FREE and only takes a minute.

This is a great cake for beginners as it’s fairly easy to create. The photographs make the design a good one for special birthdays, anniversaries and any event where a little nostalgia goes a long way.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

  1. Covering the Cakes
Fill, cover and dowel the cakes ready for the decoration.
  2. Making the Photograph Frame
Cut out the frame pieces from pastillage and assemble the frame.
  3. Creating the Collage
Cut out the edible photographs and make a collage for the lower tier.
  4. Assembling the Cakes
Stack the cakes then make the decoration for the top of the cake to finish the design.
