Squires Kitchen Exhibition 2015: Event Highlights

13th–15th March 2015 saw the return of Squires Kitchen’s hugely popular cake decorating, sugarcraft and chocolate exhibition, held at the Farnham Maltings in Surrey.

The 29th annual show attracted thousands of visitors from around the world, all after a slice of the latest decorating trends, book signings, sugarcraft classes and everything else the exhibition has to offer. With live demonstrations, a whole host of showrooms and innovative products in the marketplace, the exhibition was the place to be for everything cake.

Squires Kitchen’s boutique-style show is the longest running of its kind in Europe, and is the perfect place to find out everything you need to know and take your baking and cake decorating skills to the next level.

Visitors waited eagerly for the exhibition to open each day, with Ceri DD Griffiths, Eddie Spence MBE and Carlos Lischetti opening the show on 13th March. The best in the business shared their secrets in live demonstrations, including royal icing expert Eddie Spence MBE.

Global sugarcraft star Carlos Lischetti celebrated the publication of his highly anticipated new book, Animation in Sugar: Take 2. Carlos and his twin brother Elio signed copies of their books for fans. Eddie Spence inspired the next generation of sugarcrafters with his legendary piping skills.

21 of the UK’s top cake makers created stunning designs exclusively for the Wedding Cake Showroom. Master Chocolatier Mark Tilling revealed his expert techniques in The Chocolate Pod, and leading sugarcraft suppliers showed visitors how to use their tools and materials.

Alan Dunn imparted his flower-making wisdom, and mini classes were held for the first time at Squires Kitchen International School where leading tutors including Karen Taylor revealed their techniques. Students learnt to decorate cakes like the experts in the two-hour mini classes such as Bas Relief Sugarcraft Skills with Linda Garnham.
