As the summer holidays come to an end and parents everywhere breathe a collective sigh of relief, it’s time to reclaim a little more time for ourselves again. For us, of course, that means cake and lots of it!
We’ve got plenty of projects for you to get stuck into, from hot air balloons full of baby animals to pretty kitties in a plush armchair. We’re also looking forward to Halloween with a sweet and spooky kawaii-inspired design. There’s flowers too, with pretty peach anemones and a simple wreath of painted pansies ideal for beginners.
As we transition from Spring/Summer to Autumn/Winter, dedicated followers of fashion are busy clueing themselves up on what to expect from the next season. Why not try some Kate-Spade-inspired spots and stripes on for size or deck yourself out in sequins? Or, if you’re after something a little more subtle, Emily Hankins has used stylish shades of rose gold and dove grey in her painted cake.
As cake makers, it’s important to be aware of allergies, intolerances and special diets, and it’s something we’re asked about time and time again. To help, we’ve put together a special guide so you can make sure your cakes meet the requirements and are delicious too. To get you started, we've included Mich Turner’s gluten-free chocolate truffle cake recipe.
